21st Century Teaching & Assessment: A Beginner's Guide for Teachers
This beginner course is for teachers who want to update their practice for today's learners without feeling overwhelmed. Over four weeks, you will explore what people mean by 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity, and how to build them into everyday lessons. You will practise learner-centred approaches, including inquiry, project work and well-structured group tasks, and you will look at how to use digital tools with a clear purpose. The second half of the course focuses on assessment. It covers the difference between formative and summative assessment, quick checks for understanding, useful feedback, peer and self-assessment, authentic tasks and clear rubrics. Each lesson includes a short activity you can try with your own classes. By the end, you will have a personal action plan for bringing these ideas into your teaching.
