Frequently asked questions
What is a recurring certificate?
It is a certificate with a validity period, for example 12 or 24 months. While it is valid, anyone can confirm it on our verification page. When the period ends, the certificate shows as expired, and you renew it by refreshing the course.
Why do some certificates expire?
Some subjects change quickly: cyber threats, data protection rules and AI tools evolve every year. A certificate that is renewed regularly tells employers your knowledge is current, not just that you once passed a course.
Will I be reminded before my certificate expires?
Yes. You receive a notification and an e-mail before the expiry date (usually 30 days before), and you can always see the countdown on your My Certifications page.
Do I have to pay again to renew?
No. For courses set to re-enrol, you are enrolled in the course again at no cost when your certificate expires. Complete the refreshed course to receive a new certificate with a new validity period.
What happens to my earlier work?
Your earlier progress, quiz attempts, assignments and grades are kept safely in your renewal record before the course starts again, so nothing is lost.
How can an employer check a certificate?
Enter the certificate number on the verification page (or scan the QR code on the certificate). It shows whether the certificate is valid and, for recurring certificates, until when.
