Git and GitHub for Professional Developers
A hands-on 2-week course on the version-control workflow every professional software team uses: commits, branches, merging, resolving conflicts, pull requests, code review, releases and a first CI check on GitHub. Includes a recurring certificate valid for 24 months.
In this two-week course you will learn how Git actually works (snapshots, the staging area and the commit graph), so the commands stop being magic. You will build a clean project history, work on branches, merge and resolve conflicts, connect to GitHub with SSH, and run the full team workflow: feature branch, pull request, code review and merge. The final lesson covers undoing mistakes safely, tagging releases with semantic versioning, and adding an automated check with GitHub Actions.
Every lesson is practical: you type the commands on your own machine and finish each week with a portfolio-ready repository. The course is the first step of the Software Engineering Professional learning path and is taught by Prevail Ejimadu, a software developer and product builder who ships production systems with Laravel, JavaScript frameworks and modern APIs.
Recurring certificate: tools and team practices evolve, so the certificate for this course is valid for 24 months. You will be reminded 30 days before it expires and re-enrolled at no cost to refresh your skills and earn a new certificate.
What You'll Learn
Recurring certificate: valid 2 years
The certificate for this course stays valid for 2 years, so employers know your knowledge is current. You are reminded 30 days before it expires, then enrolled again at no cost to refresh the course and earn a new certificate.
