Data Protection and NDPA 2023 Compliance
A practical 3-week guide to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023: principles, lawful bases, data subject rights, DPIAs, vendors, breach response within 72 hours and building a compliance programme. Includes a recurring certificate valid for 24 months.
This course translates the law into day-to-day practice. You will map the personal data your team handles, choose the right lawful basis, write clear privacy notices, respond to access and deletion requests, assess high-risk projects with a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA), manage vendors and cross-border transfers, and run a breach response that meets the 72-hour notification requirement. Each week ends with a practical assignment you can reuse at work.
It is designed for administrators, HR and finance staff, school and training-centre managers, IT and product teams, compliance officers and anyone preparing to support a Data Protection Officer. Completing Cybersecurity Awareness for the Workplace first is recommended (it is the first course of the Digital Trust and Compliance learning path).
Important: this course is practical training, not legal advice. Always check the current text of the Act and guidance published by the NDPC for your specific situation.
Recurring certificate: data protection rules and guidance evolve, so the certificate for this course is valid for 24 months. You will be reminded 30 days before it expires and re-enrolled at no cost to refresh your knowledge and earn a new certificate.
